Austin City Limits Music Festival

En un afán por ofrecer un evento con diversidad musical surge Austin City Limits, un concierto de tres días con presentaciones de artistas que van del country o folk al rock más mainstream.

La actividad dio inicio el pasado viernes con las actuaciones de Yeasayer y Jakob Dylan, quienes abrieron la tarde de forma relajada con las dosis necesarias de energía que indicaban que aún faltaba mucho por venir. Así transcurrió un día que con headliners como Mars Volta y Manú Chao mantuvo contentos a todos.

Erykah Badú apareció con un aire despreocupado interpretando temas como “On and On”, “Love of My Life” y “New Amerykah Part One (4th World War)” proveniente de su más reciente material, mientras algunos disfrutaban de su R&B otros tantos ya iniciaban su recorrido para presenciar la actuación de MGMT.

Gnarls Barkley, Stars, Okkervil River hicieron lo propio cuando caía el atardecer. Tiempo después The Raconteurs presentaron prácticamente el mismo set que en Lollapalooza, sin embargo la gente se prendió de igual manera.

Los platos fuertes sin duda resultaron N.E.R.D. Foo Fighters, Robert Plant and Allison Krauss y por supuesto David Byrne.

Con tres días de música, el Festival ACL cada vez cobra mayor importancia. Con más de 130 bandas reunidas, 8 escenarios y más de 65mil visitantes por día, ACL es un espacio a la altura de Bonnaroo, Coachella y Lollapalooza, este último también organizado por C3 Presents.
